What is the BSCAI?
The BSCAI, or Building Service Contractors Association International, has been around for over 55 years. They are a resource for business owners who want to grow themselves, their employees, and their companies, and have a network of over 1,000 member companies across the United States and 15 countries around the world.
BSCAI member companies are comprised of industries spanning cleaning, facility maintenance, security, landscaping and other related services to building owners and managers. The association provides industry leaders with individual certifications, contractor-specific training, publications, seminars, networking opportunities, and more.1
What are Registered Building Service Managers?
RBSM, or Registered Building Service Managers, are an elite group of professionals who have completed the four-step process to obtain their BSCAI certification. The four steps are:
- The application
- Preparing for the examination
- The examination itself
- Passing or retesting
The examination includes the following subjects: carpet care, chemicals and chemistry, employee training, first aid, floor care, government regulations, labor laws, personnel management, quality control, restroom cleaning, safety and fire, security, and more.2
